INPEX Mega Solar Joetsu commenced generating power from its No. 1 unit in March 2013 and constructed its No. 2 unit of the same scale on the adjacent plot of land formerly occupied by a crude oil refinery. Since July 2015, both units combined have generated the equivalent of the annual power consumption of approximately 1,600 households.
